The Style
The style of my design is characterized by a return to feminine silhouettes, with slim lines and an emphasized waist, partly influenced by the Hollywood glamour of the 1930s. With the use of elegant and enduring materials such as real silk fabrics, viscose satins, and sustainable vegan alternatives, I aim to create luxurious clothes that accentuate women's soft and feminine curves. These carefully selected and thoughtfully arranged materials weave a narrative of romance and opulence, elevating each piece to timeless sophistication.
Streamlined elegance with attention to detail, and soft colors are revived in my designs.
Sewing techniques: Cutting the fabric on the bias, known as bias-cut, allows the fabric to drape naturally around your body, creating a fluid, form-fitting silhouette.
Decorative elements; embroidery, small bead embellishments, are added to give a sophisticated look. The embroidery designs are mostly inspired by the tropical landscape of my mother's country Suriname, for example the hibiscus flower.
Colors: Pastels and soft tones such as light blue, pink, orange hues, and mint green.
