The Designer

Hi! I am Jennifer – the face behind the brand.
I work in my home atelier; a romantic, intimate and timeless environment. At Farzana, I create handmade clothing pieces that celebrate feminine sensuality. Each garment is thoughtfully designed with a unique style, blending South-Asian trends with European elegance. My passion is to offer one-of-a-kind pieces that stand out, ensuring you wear something as distincitve as you are. From carefully selected fabrics to intricate detailing, every piece is made exclusively. Explore my brand and discover wearable art designed for those who dare to be different.
I grew up in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. At age 19 I moved to Hollywood to pursue a career in acting, where I resided for 8 years. Once I returned to Amsterdam I imersed myself into my passion for designing. I am inspired by boudoir chique dresses from the classic Hollywood era and love practicing age old embroidery techniques from Pakistan. Altogether, my designs embody romance and sensuality.

The Style

The style of my design is characterized by a return to feminine silhouettes, with slim lines and an emphasized waist, partly influenced by the Hollywood glamour of the 1930s. With the use of elegant and enduring materials such as real silk fabrics, viscose satins, and sustainable vegan alternatives, I aim to create luxurious clothes that accentuate women's soft and feminine curves. These carefully selected and thoughtfully arranged materials weave a narrative of romance and opulence, elevating each piece to timeless sophistication.
Streamlined elegance with attention to detail, and soft colors are revived in my designs.
Sewing techniques: Cutting the fabric on the bias, known as bias-cut, allows the fabric to drape naturally around your body, creating a fluid, form-fitting silhouette.
Decorative elements; embroidery, small bead embellishments, are added to give a sophisticated look. The embroidery designs are mostly inspired by the tropical landscape of my mother's country Suriname, for example the hibiscus flower.
Colors: Pastels and soft tones such as light blue, pink, orange hues, and mint green.
